Not only that, it’s nearly  BC specific.

He’s leader of the BC Liberals (political party). He’s also an idiot and he’s FUUUUUCKED in our election tonight.

If you want a really layman’s. There’s 3 parties: NDP and Liberal are the 2 main parties. Green takes a few seats in smaller communities and a few independents also get in occasionally.

New Democratic Party (Labour, Centre Left)

Liberal Party (Business, Centre Right)

Green Party (Environmental, Centre Left)

Liberals were in power from 2001-2017. In this time (particular after 2007) they managed to completely wreck the BC housing market for locals with foreign investment and speculation as well as turn a completely blind eye to money laundering operations (I’d say there was collusion). The NDP prior to 2001 had a few eye brown raising scandals as well though.

The last election was close and the Liberals technically won government with 2 seats but the NDP formed a Coalition Government with the Green Party to gain seats and formed the government.

All polls have been projecting a NDP win by decent margins this election.

Thanks. Interesting that the business/center right is called Liberal, which is pretty much the opposite of what the term means down here.

New Democratic Party implies that there was once an Old Democratic Party, or perhaps just a Democratic Party.

All the parties are rather centre so it’s slight differences. The past few years they’ve worked together and tried to get things passed for the good of the Province.

So, if anyone divulges who they voted for , no one flips shit, you just know what they value in policy. No vote is regarded as “wrong” here , just slightly different .
